St Andrews3 Dundee West 3

West heading into Fife on Tuesday evening looking to continue there fine start to the season against St Andrews.

West started the game on the front foot and were ahead after 5 minutes, David Mccaskill superbly controlling a long goal kick from Mylo and outstripping the defence to fire past the keeper from 12 yards, St Andrews then hit back and striker stoked one past Mylo only for the post to save west on this occasion. Dundee West then went 2-0 up this time Ryan outpacing the St Andrews defence from an other Mylo kick to coolly slot into the corner 2-0. St Andrews hit back immediately went there striker raced clear to clip the ball over the keeper to pull a goal back 2-1. West continued to dominate but only a poor final ball was stopping west ading to the goal tally. St Andrews equilised on 30 mins went striker raced clear 7 fired home from insie box 2-2. Incredibly against the run of play then then took lead again after a ball played over the top resulted in a 2v1 situation and ball was squared for stiker to tap home HT 3-2.

West make a tactical change at the break to drop the defence back to nullify the pace St Andrews had with the long ball and this effectively dealt with any thing there could throw at West. Most of the second half was spent camped in the St Andrews half & Ryan forced the keeper into a great save when 1 on 1 not to be denied west got a deserved equiliser when Andrew Cameron fired home from the edge of the box with the aid of a deflection 3-3. there was then a few shouts for penalties for both teams but ref was not giving anything. into the 80th minute and West were given a final chance to take the 3 pts after Finlay was chopped down on the edge of the box, David took the free kick flighted it beautifully over the wall & left the goalie standing only for it to crash back off the bar to James O Neil who fired the rebound narrowly over the bar. Full time 3-3

On reflection a game were west could have folded after going 3-2 down felt like a defeat for the boys at full time as despite there best efforts they just couldnt get the winner there performance deserved. MOTM David Mccaskill.
