JOINING & PARTICIPATION INSTRUCTIONS

Time: 7.30pm
Method: Zoom (meeting link will be emailed out to those who have paid £10 Ticket) – please complete all preparation below BEFORE joining the Zoom session)
Cost: Your £10 entry ticket is all you will spend. This allows you a £2 in each of the 5 races. How to bet your £2 on each race is explained further down the page. Please read on . . .

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO DO
· Have a steady internet connection
· Be armed with any mobile or webcam enabled device with access to Zoom (all the more fun with a separate webcam to capture the family and/or something to stream to a larger screen TV e.g. Apple TV or HDMI from laptop to TV)
· Have or download Whatsapp
· Join ALL 8 Whatsapp group chats (one for each Horse in a Race) - Links to join Group Chats will be Emailed to those who have paid £10 Entry Fee at same time with Zoom Link)
· Be prepared to jump around your living room cheering on your chosen horse!
· Be open minded as this has never been done virtually before!
JOINING THE WHATSAPP GROUP CHATS
Whatsapp will be the method for you to submit your chosen horse number that you think will win on each basis. If you do not join ALL OF the group chats YOU WILL BE UNABLE to a pick horse and would forfeit your chance of any winnings.
There will be a Group Chat for each Horse Number and you will be Emailed a link to join each of these Group Chats yourself.
JOINING THE VIRTUAL RACE NIGHT:
Before joining the Zoom session, ensure you have completed all of the above preparation
· There will very little opportunity to ask questions when the Zoom session is live.
· Join the Zoom ‘room’ from any device via the meeting which will be Emailed out to you
PARTICIPATION RULES (how to bet!)
· Once a £10 entry ticket has been purchased via My Club Hub, there will be 5 races, each with 8 running horses
· Your £10 entry will entitle you to 1x£2 bet in each of the 5 races
· The host compere will screenshare and introduce each randomly chosen race where the on-screen commentator will give you the lowdown on each of the running horses
· Dundee West volunteers will be manning the Whatsapp group chats and will be waiting to receive for your bets:
o You will be notified via the group chat when betting opens and closes for each race
o The host compere will also verbally signal that betting is open/closed
o Betting open will be signalled in Whatsapp as follows:
? RACE 1 BETTING OPEN ?
o Lodge your favoured horse number in the respective group chat i.e. if you think horse number 3 will win go to group chat ‘Horse Number 3’ and drop an emoji or something to indicate your choice
o Betting closed will be signalled in Whatsapp as follows:
? RACE 1 BETTING CLOSED ?
o Only bets received within the OPEN and CLOSED window announcements will be accepted
· Dundee West volunteers will coordinate all group chat submissions following which, race odds ‘may’ be announced by the compere
· Any race winnings will be calculated and paid out by the Club on a date as quickly as possible following the main event
· A nominated member of the executive committee will make contact to arrange preferred payout method
