Scottish Government COVID Protection Levels - Scottish FA Updates

02/11/2020

To all parents and carers

Following last week’s Scottish Government update on their new COVID-19 Strategic Framework, SFA have been in dialogue with both the Scottish Government and SportScotland to obtain clarification as to how the new system affects grassroots football in Scotland.

The key points are:

1. New travel exemptions for children’s and youth football, allowing under-18s to travel freely for exercise in areas within Levels 0-3.

2. Teams should continue to compete in their local area at all levels and at all ages.

3. Teams must not travel in or out of areas in levels 3 or 4.

4. Adult football, unfortunately, is still not permitted within level 3 or 4 areas, out with the existing professional exemptions – although non-contact training is allowed.

What it means for Dundee West Teams:

1. Dundee West Youth teams will be able to continue with Training and Games (but adhering to Return to Football guidelines)

2. Dundee West Teams won't be able to play teams outwith Dundee

3. Dundee West Teams need to stay within the Dundee boundary for games - (Associations for Girls & Boys will be working on Fixtures to tie in with this restriction)

4. Adult games are stopped - only non contact Training allowed

5. No spectators allowed at Games or Training
