DUNDEE WEST'S MEN FFIT FORM AHEAD OF THE NEW FOOTBALL SEASON!!

29/07/2024

Dundee West CT are delighted to welcome our brand new Men's Football Fans in Training team into the club pathway ahead of the 2024/25 football season.

Earlier this year, our new adult outfit who will be represented as Dundee West FFIT team was created and affiliated to the Community Trust after an exciting opportunity arose to form a competitive team to join the Appin Warriors Leaue -  A league specifically designed for overweight men, providing a platform to enhance overall fitness through football.

Since the forming of the brand new team, huge progress has been made after successfully completing three vetting games and promptly accepted into the league.

The team have already created a strong working committee, purchased new kits and have a dedicated group of men determined to represent the club in the league but most importantly work with the club to improve men's health.

Tam McCabe, Community Development Manager of the Trust said, "This has been an exciting opportunity we have been working on for a few months now and to continue our work locally utilising the power of football to transform lives and make a difference to men's health, fitness & weight.

When Gary and Nick approached me about the idea of forming a new Men's FFIT team we were absolutely delighted to sit down and plan how we could work together to establish a new team and connect with more men that were looking to improve their health through football participation.

Our aim in general is how we can improve people's health & well-being but to work closer with the adult game to offer better opportunities at all levels to play football and this is another step in the right direction where they are registerd to the league assocation and will use Charlotte Street pitches for the 2024/25 football season as home."

Dundee West Men's FFIT team will kick off the season on Sunday 18th August with an away fixture to Coatbridge United before welcoming Celtic FFIT for there first home game at Charlotte Street.
