New Women's Team Coaches Announced!

06/03/2024

We are delighted to welcome our new coaching team! ?
Aaron Reid takes on the Head Coach role and brings with him strong previous experience on the women’s game including with East Fife in the SWPL as well with St Andrews University’s successful women’s football programme. Aaron also has worked in the men’s game including in SPFL League Two with Cowdenbeath and in the Junior game and his enthusiasm and knowledge will be a great asset to our SWF League One side. Aaron is joined by Dean Boath and Matty Porteous with Lewis McKelvie also coming on board as Goalkeeping Coach to work alongside existing coach Lynsay McKinlay.
The new coaching team have been putting their stamp on things over the past few weeks with the squad responding well to the high demands being put on them.
Aaron gave his thoughts on taking on the role so far and his ambitions for the rest of the season and beyond saying “It’s great to take on this role. It’s a challenge I’m ready for and know we can build for the future. Since taking it on in January it’s been a bedding in process which has seen the players and my staff challenged to raise the standards on the pitch which everyone has welcomed and risen to. Our objective is to improve on previous results and finish the campaign strongly to build for next season. The club is very well run has a dedicated committee and well setup youth system that we will definitely tap into and need to bring success to the club long term”.
Welcome to the West Dean, Aaron, Lewis (pictured left to right) and Matty for what we are sure will be a successful partnership in progressing our senior women’s team to the next level.
Thanks as always to our sponsors:
