We as an executive Committee of Dundee West wanted to send you all a note regarding recent developments with the Team
Today (18th November 2019) the Dundee West Executive Committee has received a complaint from Brechin Boys Club regarding the behaviour from Dundee West Line a few weeks ago. We have discussed with the 05s coaches who have advised this wasn't a one-way street from the Dundee West Line but we as a club can only deal with our side of things and emphasise the message to our members.
When you are attending games please remember you are representing Dundee West and any misconduct or abusive behaviour while attending West Games towards opponents, officials or referees has repercussions for the club. We should all be setting an example for the players and we need to ensure the correct example is being set.
Please also remember that when signing up to Dundee West you as a parent and your son have signed up to and have accepted the Dundee West Code of Conducts. Misconduct and bad behaviour won’t be tolerated.
We would appreciate if everyone can please stop shouting during games towards players, referees and opponents with immediate effect. Especially negative comments towards anyone at the game.
The players should only hear the coaches on a Sunday and please allow the coaches to coach without creating a negative environment. We always need the coaches to be able to encourage the boys and make sure the boys only hear the coach’s voices.
We as an Executive Committee are also trying to move our teams away from using WhatsApp as a method of communication from now.
For the 2005s, Fixtures and Training details will be communicated through My Club Hub from now on.
When you receive a notification through MCH, please accept the invite to let the coaches know you are attending a training session or a game on a Sunday through MCH.
If a player of the team can’t attend a session, please also communicate this through MCH using the event invite or if a late call-off using the messages button on MCH.
Please download the MCH App to your phone which will make getting the News, Fixtures and meeting times easier with a notification through the App.
We can also add additional parents /carer to each player’s profile. We only need an Email address of the adult being added and the player to add it to. That way more than one parent/carer will receive team and club news.
Finally, we would appreciate if everyone can take on board our comments and look to support the boys in the proper way we know at the West.
The transition from 2 teams to one team has been good in the fact we now have one competitive team, but we want the boys to stay positive and allow the good coaches we have at the team to coach and make the boys better as a team.
