Dryburgh v Dundee West U9s

26/08/2018

Two hard games today against dryburgh

ronaldo - squad Evan L, Leo, Joe, Oscar, Jay, Oliver, Mark, Evan G

ronaldo’s played first this week we tried players in a variety of different positions throughout the game. It was an even game in the first half we just struggled to test the keeper. Both teams grew into the game as the first half progressed with some heavy challenges from both sets of players. We came in at half time 3-0 down which felt harsh on the west

second half we played a lot better got further up the park and began to have shots on target. We had a different set up with Joe and Leo in the back line and Oscar and Jay moving up into midfield we began to pass the ball better and managed to score 2 great team goals- again the heavy challenges were going in from both teams and it was a good competitive second half - the game finished 5-2 which seemed harsh on the west

messi

Evan L, Owen, Lewis, Sol, Luke, Ciaran, Harley, Sam, Harrison

this was another competitive game with the rain coming on harder as the game progressed. I’m obviously biased but the west were all over dryburgh and played some lovely football amazingly we came in at half time 1-0 down

the boys to their credit kept their heads up and continued to play the better football in the second half we created chance after but then lost another goal completely against the run of play.  With around 8 minutes to go it looked as though we would never score - another great move had Ciaran through one on one with the keeper... he unselfishly squared it to an unmarked West player and it was game on- we kept pushing and fighting and got it back to 2-2 and for the last couple of minutes it wasn’t attack after attack - the game ended 2-2 with man of the match the dryburgh keeper!!
