Pitfour v Dundee West Reds 2005

26/08/2018

After moving up into the Top league, we always knew is was going to be difficult, but the boys showed today what they are capable off, we started the game really well against a very good side, we where by far the better side upto the 25 min mark, when our holding mid James Milton had to be taken off with a serious face injury after a nasty head clash and had to be taken to Hospital.

This unsettled the boys and shortly after we conceded a penalty putting Pitfour 1 up at the break.

after the break we created some great chances down the left side with some great play with Rourke Davidson, Andy Cameron and Owen Lockhart, but just couldn’t find the finishing touch.

Througout the 2nd half we pressed and pressed trying to get that goal, but got undone twice on the counter putting Pitfour 3 up, we were never out of the game and had our chances but just couldn’t find the net.

we finally found the net with 8 mins remaining with a great strike from David McCaskill that flew into the bottom left corner, we continued to push and came very close with a great effort from Rourke Davidson just going wide.

Again and again we attacked but just couldn’t get the goals, then a simply ball through to our goalkeeper got loose and Pitfour nipped in to make it 4.

Great game of football today and i’m Still here confused that we never took anything from today.

Overall a very pleasing performance from the boys, despite the result confidence is growing and we will get there, the boys showed a great attitude and displayed some excellent football.

Get well soon James.
